Prof. Engin ARIK (1948-2007) Boğaziçi University, Physics Department
Dr. Engin ARIK ,was born in 1948, graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Science, Department of Physics-Mathematics in 1969 and then completed his masters and doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh. She completed his doctorate in 1976. She was in post-doctoral research at the University of London and in Rutherford laboratories. In 1979, She began to work at Boğaziçi University at the Physics Department of the Faculty of Science. Particularly, she involved in many experiments at European Nuclear Research Centers (CERN) in the post-1990 and provided significant contributions to CHARMII, CHORUS, SMC experiments in particular. she also led the Turkish Group in recent years at CERN ATLAS and CAST experiments. She also worked at the University of Vienna between 1997-2000. Prof.Dr. Arık published hundreds of articles in the field of Experimental High Energy Physics and has received hundreds of references. Turkey attaches great importance to its full membership to CERN. Arık was married and had two children.
